Critical reception

[edit]

Amanda Jones of The Ramapo News describes the work as "a moody 15-track anthology that dives into sex, love and consequences" going on to say that "Each song has a different element and vibe, but are all tied together with 2016-techno feeling beats and a sultry pop tone".[1]

Josh Sharpe of BroadwayWorld indicates that "The 15-track collection boasts a darkened, dance-powered sound that Barrett has perfected in her journey to empower and uplift her listeners".[3]

Ali Choudhary of The Courier describes the album as "a 45-minute delicious treat to indulge in and a vulnerable bouffe for those ravenous sweaty and sleepless nights" adding that "her brutal honesty about the vulnerabilities of sexual intimacy in the wake of previous hurts and traumas is comforting, as well as endorsing her own self-empowerment and establishing freedom from being in the male gaze".[4]

Touring

[edit]

Barrett announced the Aftercare World Tour in November 2024 with support acts from Sombr and Ari Abdul, starting in the United States and finishing in France. [5][6]
