Aditya Narayan Jha (Template:Lang-hi born 6 August 1987), commonly known as Aditya Narayan, is a Bollywood actor, television host and music composer & singer. He is the only child of Bollywood singer Udit Narayan and Deepa Narayan.
Early life
Aditya Narayan Jha commonly known as Aditya Narayan was born 6 August 1987, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. He is actor, singer, songwriter, music composer, television host and most recently assistant director, He belongs to a musical family of father, playback singer Udit Narayan and and mother Deepa Narayan, his grandfather Hari Krishna Jha and grandmother Bhuvaneshwari Jha all being musically inclined belongs to Saptari district, Nepal. Aditya was born in Breach Candy Hospital Mumbai, he grew up in and also is a resident of Mumbai and he is of Nepali origin. Aditya completed his schooling from Utpal Shanghvi school in 2003. He passed his junior college from Mitthibai College of Commerce. [2] [3] [4] [5]
Biography
Aditya Narayan began his career at a very young age singing. As a child, Aditya was first spotted by musical Mastro Kalyanji (Of Kalyanji-Anandji) at his 4th Birthday celebration. He soon started training under Kalyanji and also did concerts called Little Wonder's a show where only kids showcased their talent in various forms of art. He went on to perform for more than 300 "Little Wonder's" concerts.He has been a very successful child artist and singer. In 1995 he did a cameo in a song from the film Rangeela with Asha Bhosle.[6] His first playback song was in 1992 for the song of Nepali Film track for Mohoni [7] [8] and later in 1995 Akele Hum Akele Tum along with his father, Udit Narayan. His biggest hit as a child artist though, came with the song "Chhota Baccha Jaan Ke" from the film Masoom in 1996.[9] It also earned him his first major Film award, the Screen Awards critics Best Child Singer in 1997. It also fetched him a special jury award at the Screen Awards as best child singer for the same song. He also sung for A.R. Rahman in the films Rangeela and Taal. Aditya as a child has song more than 100 songs and also had a super successful self titled album "Aditya" with Polygram Music (now Universal Music), Aditya has sung in more than 16 Indian Languages in 1996.[10] His acting career as a child began when Aditya was spotted by Producer/Director Subhash Ghai at the 1995 Filmfare award function, as the final performer for the "Little Wonder's" troupe. Ghai then signed him for his forthcoming venture, "Pardes" starring Shah Rukh Khan & Mahima Chaudhary. The film went on to be a huge success, a Golden Jubilee released on 8 august 1997. His role as Kabir Dhanrajgir was a substantial one, almost parallel to the lead actors of the film. The film had a successful Silver Jubilee run. It also earned him a Best Supporting Actor nomination at the 1999 Zee Cine Awards. In 2006 he completed a diploma in English contemporary music at Tech Music Schools, in London. On his return to India, he was called to audition for Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007.
After his successful triumph over many singers in the running to host the coveted music reality show, he became a household name and the show went on to become one of the most successful reality shows in the history of Indian television.
At 19 years old, Narayan's first professional outing came as an anchor for Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007. He then hosted Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs 2008. His third and last season of the show was Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2009
In April/May '08 his father, Udit Narayan and Aditya, had a successful musical tour consisting of 20 sold out shows in the United States of America, Canada & West Indies.
In 2009 Aditya signed his first film as lead actor, Shaapit, directed by Vikram Bhatt, which was released worldwide on March 19, 2010. He sung 4 songs and also wrote and composed the title track for the film, "Shaapit Hua"
In 2011, he hosted the reality show X Factor on Sony Entertainment Television.
In early 2012, Aditya joined Sanjay Leela Bhansali as an assistant director for the producer/director's next directorial venture.[13]
