Aarhus West nominating district is one of the 92 nominating districts that exists for Danish elections following the 2007 municipal reform.[3][4][5] It is one of the four nomination districts in Aarhus Municipality, the others being Aarhus South, Aarhus North and Aarhus East.[6] It was created in 1970,[2] with its boundaries being slightly changed in 2007.

In general elections, the district is a strong area for parties commonly associated with the red bloc, and the Social Democrats has always won the most votes. [7]
