3OH!3

3OH!3 (pronounced "three-oh-three") IF THE USER 5 ALBERT SQUARE IS READING THIS, I WILL F YOU AND YOUR FAMILY UP, I HOPE YOU HAVE A DAUGHTER

is an American musical group from Boulder, Colorado formed in 2004 and is named after the 303 area code,[1] which includes Boulder as well as the Denver metropolitan area.[2] They are best known for their hit single "Don't Trust Me", which reached #7 in the US, their recent single "Starstrukk" featuring Katy Perry, which is currently a top 10 hit in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Finland and Australia, their #1 digital hit "Blah Blah Blah" with Ke$ha, and their "energetic" performances.

The Band

3OH!3 consists of Sean Foreman, born August 27, 1985[3] and Nathaniel Motte, born January 13, 1984[4]; both of whom are natives of Boulder CO [5]. The pair met in a physics class while attending University of Colorado. 3OH!3 was part of the 2009 Warped Tour. [6] 3OH!3 is also known for their hand sign, referenced in their song "Holler 'til You Pass Out" performed by touching two thumbs and forefingers together and displaying the rest of their fingers so that there are three fingers on each side of the zero. This is frequently seen at concerts.[7] 3OH!3 play a mixture of electro music, alternative rock and hip hop.

History

After playing the Denver date of Warped Tour 2007, 3OH!3 signed on for all venues of Warped Tour 2008, and their song, "Punkbitch", is featured on the Warped Tour 2008 Tour Compilation. The band has also played at national festivals such as Bamboozle Left.[8] The band later headlined the 2009 Alternative Press Tour across the U.S. with Family Force 5, The Maine, A Rocket to the Moon, and Hit The Lights.

The band contributed an original theme song titled "Sex on the Beach" for MTV's The Real World: Cancun.[9] The band performed in Panama City Beach, Florida for MTVU's Spring Break in March 2009, which they opened for upcoming rapper Sid Hyet.

3OH!3 again joined the Warped Tour in 2009. On the whole tour, they were accompanied by Kamtin Mohager of The Chain Gang Of 1974 playing live bass. 3OH!3 also played at EndFest in Sacramento CA with such acts as The White Tie Affair. 3OH!3 was also a part of Kiss Concert '09 (Kiss 108) at the Comcast Center in Mansfield, MA and Kiss The Summer Hello 2009 @ Coca-Cola Field in Buffalo, NY, June 3, 2009, along with Kevin Rudolf, The White Tie Affair, The Veronicas, The Ting Tings, & Elliott Yamin.

3OH!3 wrote an anthem for Major League Baseball's Colorado Rockies. The music video was shot at the Ogden Theater in Denver and airs during broadcasts on FSN Rocky Mountain.

3OH!3's sophomore album on Photo Finish Records, Want, was released on July 8, 2008. It reached #44 on the Billboard 200.[10] "Don't Trust Me" has been controversial, as some have accused the band of misogyny.[11]

The music video for "Holler Til You Pass Out" takes place at Mesa Elementary and Fairview High School in Boulder.[citation needed] The music video for "Starstrukk" has been released on the band's MySpace and Facebook pages, as well as YouTube and several other networking sites. On their official Twitter(Nat - NAT3OH3, Sean - kidquizine) , they announced that they are planning to record a song with Lil Jon. On the Warped Tour 2009 and before, they performed a new song called "Hit It Again", which is about wanting another chance with a girl.

In May 2009, they created a remix of Family Force 5's single "Get Your Back Off The Wall", for the album Dance or Die With A Vengeance.

On the July 15th, 2009 stop of the Vans Warped Tour in Scranton, PA Sean injured his leg while on stage and needed stitches. The band was scheduled to sign at the Music Saves Lives booth that day and only Nat was able to attend. On the July 18, 2009 stop of Warped Tour in Uniondale, New York, they were joined by Lil Jon on stage to perform with them. On August 28, 2009, they released a remix of their second single, "Starstrukk", featuring Katy Perry on their MySpace page. The song was released on iTunes on September 8, 2009.

They are also featured on the Ke$ha song "Blah Blah Blah".

Advertisements for the show Candy Girls use the song "Starstrukk".

In the television show The Hills, episode #61 entitled "You'll Never Have This", uses the song "Don't Trust Me".

Also, in the television series The Vampire Diaries, episode #3, entitled "Friday Night Bites", uses the song "Starstrukk".

The song "Starstrukk" is used during a preview of the movie "Couples Retreat" starring Vince Vaughn.

The "Starstrukk" remix with Katy Perry is in both the trailer and beginning of the movie When In Rome.

A new song, "Follow Me Down" (featuring Neon Hitch) was written for the compilation album for the Tim Burton Disney film Alice in Wonderland, "Almost Alice".
