The 1998 World Series of Poker (WSOP) was a series of poker tournaments held at Binion's Horseshoe.

Preliminary events

There were 20 preliminary bracelet events at the 1998 World Series of Poker.[1] Doyle Brunson became the second player in WSOP history to win eight career bracelets.

Main Event

There were 350 entrants to the main event.[22] Each paid $10,000 to enter the tournament, with the top 27 players finishing in the money. The 1998 Main Event was notable for having only five players reach the official final table for the first time in WSOP Main Event history.[23]
