The 2024–25 Florida Gators men's basketball team represents the University of Florida during the 2024–25 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Gators, led by third-year head coach Todd Golden, play their home games at the O'Connell Center in Gainesville, Florida as members of the Southeastern Conference (SEC).

Previous season

[edit]

The Gators finished the 2023–24 season 24–12, 11–7 in SEC play, to finish in sixth place. In the SEC tournament, the Gators beat Georgia, Alabama, and Texas A&M to advance to the championship game where they would fall to Auburn. The Gators earned an at-large bid to the 2024 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament as the No. 7 seed in the South region, where they lost to Colorado 102–100 in the first round.[1][2]

Accusations against Todd Golden

[edit]

In November, news of accusations of sexual harassment came to light against head coach Todd Golden.[3] The accusations, as part of a Title IX investigation in potential violations of the school's gender equity policy, included acts of harassment and stalking of Florida students by Golden.[4] Golden responded to the report by acknowledging it and stated that he was considering defamation claims against the accusers.[5] Golden continued to coach the team while the investigation continued.[6]
