The tournament was held from November 2022 to February 2023. In August 2022, New Zealand Cricket announced schedule of 2022–23 domestic season.[2] Auckland were the defending champions.[3]
On 17 March 2023, New Zealand Cricket (NZC) announced date and venue for the rescheduled grand final match between Central Districts and Canterbury.[4] In the final, Central Districts beat Canterbury by six wickets to win their 7th title.
