A terrorist is someone who has planned or carried out an act of terrorism. Terrorists are usually motivated by certain causes, which they believe are more important than the destruction and/or loss of human life they are responsible for. Terrorists are generally reviled by the general public in the land where they commit terrorist acts, but may be hailed as freedom fighters in others.
