Psychiatry is a branch of medicine that studies and treats mental and
emotional disorders, some of which are listed on the mental illness page.
Note that psychiatry is practiced by psychiatrists, psychology by psychologists. Psychiatrists have medical training, while psychologists do not (but sometimes have extremely extensive training in therapy).
